Large Chrism Cabochons Bronze Cross

$295.00Price

Large wall cross of paleochristian inspiration in bronze with Chrism.

In its center, the Chrism, a precious symbol to the first Christians, illustrates the roots of the Christian faith with the Greek letters Khi (Χ) and Rhô (Ρ), the initials of Christ. This symbol, according to Lactantius, was seen by the Emperor Constantine before the Battle of the Milvian Bridge, leading him to adopt it on the standards of his armies.

The Latin shape of the cross, with its lower upright longer than the others, and its patté style characterized by the slightly widened ends of the arms, gives it an elegance and an imposing presence. The enameled cabochons and the geometric decorations in champlevé enamels, made by hand in the Piéchaud workshop in Villefagnan, are a guarantee of authenticity and respect for ancestral techniques.

The enameling is executed with exemplary mastery, each piece being fired according to the tradition of "grand feu enamels", thus ensuring robustness in all circumstances. This cross, with its enamels available in four shades: red, green, blue, and white, is the reflection of a living heritage, distinguished by the label "Entreprise du patrimoine vivant" by the French Ministry of Economy.

This cross is not only an object of devotion; it is also a luxurious decorative element, a work of art that will last for ages.

A perfect gift for a first communion, a profession of faith, a confirmation or a wedding.
