Saint Mary MacKillop is Australia’s first Saint and was canonised in 2010. She became a religious sister at age 24 and took on the name “Mary of the Cross.” St Mary MacKillop was a true Pioneer. She co-founded the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart and established schools to educate the poor.
 
Despite all the challenges she faced serving the needy, she lived with courage and trusted in God’s providence. Today there are over 600 Sisters of St Joseph serving in communities throughout the world.
