St. Ignatius of Loyola Retablo - (1491-1556) Patron of Many Dioceses

St Ignatius was a Basque Spaniard Catholic priest and theologian, who, with six companions, founded the religious order of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), and became its first Superior General, in Paris in 1541.

Test on the back of the Retablo: "I ask God, the Father, to give me an intimate knowledge of the many gifts I have received, so that filled with gratitude for all, I may in all things love and serve the Divine Majesty."

A Retablo is a devotional painting derived from traditional Catholic Church Art, often on rectangular wooden board that illustrate holy images such as Christ, the Virgin Mary or Saints.
