St Jude Statue

SKU: LDW025

St. Jude, known also as Thaddeus, was said to be a cousin of Jesus. When Jesus began His public ministry, Jude became one of His twelve apostles.

He is usually depicted with a flame over his head and an image of Jesus in his hands. The flame reminds us that St. Jude was present at Pentecost when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles. The image of Jesus in his hands is a reference to the story of the King of Edessa. The King had a serious illness that no one could cure. When St. Jude visited him, he showed him an image of Jesus’ face he was carrying and the King was cured instantly!

Because of this miracle, St. Jude is considered the Patron Saint of Hopeless Cases.

The Little Drops collectible statues series help your children, grandchildren or godchildren to learn about Jesus, Mary and the Saints.
