This icon portrays Christ with a lamb on his shoulders and a shepherd's staff in the crook of his arm. A cross behind him reminds us of his teaching: "The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep" (John 10:11).
This icon is wood-mounted icon on Pro-Wood, with with tee-slots milled in the back for easy hanging. This icon is finished in classic cherry to replicate the traditional icon red, in keeping with Byzantine tradition. It comes with a descriptive pamphlet explaining the symbolism and history of the image.
